Mr. Egglestone. on behalf of Marlborough, moved': “That owing to the large nunibei of accidents while cars are driven at excessive speed while the drivers are apparently under the influence of liquor, pressure be brought to bear on the Police Department to deal drasticallv with after-hours drinking in public and accommodation houses, particularly in the country.” Mr. Johnston said the best course would be to approach the Minister in charge of the Police Department. The automobile associations could be asked to assist in enforcing the law. The remit was carried.
