Twenty-two bands have entered for the South Island band contest, as follows: — A Grade. —AVoolston. St. Kilda, Invercargill Hibernian, First Canterbury Rifles (Ashburton), Invercargill Battalion. City of Sydney (formerlly Redfern Municipal), Municipal Silver (Runanga), South Canterbury Battalion (Timaru), Queen Alexandra’s Own (AVanganui). Port Nicholson Silver (Wellington), AVellington Tramways. B Grade.—Third Artillery (Dunedin), New Brighton Municipal, Greymouth Municipal, Christchurch Tramways, Nelson Garrison. Oamaru Municipal, Kaianoi Brass. Dunedin City Tramways. Hastings Citizens. Fifth Rifles (Oamaru), First Battalion (AVellington).
The whole of these bands have also entered for the quickstep competition.
