LADDER CHALLENGES. Mrs. Evison, who was placed third on the B division of the Wellington Association ladder, and Mrs Parkinson. placed sixth, in the A division, were called upon by the committee to trv conclusions with each other, and tho match resulted in a win for Mrs. Evison. 6—2, 6—2. Further challenges have been issued in the A division of the men’s singles as follows:—D. France has challenged L France: R. R. Young has challenged C. L. Mayo; and W. P. Hollings has challenged C. P Wheeler.
SECONDARY' SCHOOLS TOURNAMENT.
A meeting of the executive committee of the Secondary Schools Association was held yesterday. The following additional entries were received for the annual tennis tourney to be held on Saturday next on the Brougham Hill Club courts: —St. Patrick’s College and Wellington College. The Wellington Bovs’ College have entered eightfor the iiinior singles, four pairs for junior doubles, eight for senior singles. and 1 four pairs for senior doubles. St. Patrick’s College, 8,4, 6, 3 ; Scots College. 2.1, 8. 3; Wellesley College. 5. 3. 4. 3: Petone District High School, 3. 2,2 junior girls’ singles, 2 senior girls’ singles, and 2 doubles; Wellincton Girls’ College, 6. 2, 6 3; Wellinnton Technical College (boys). 8, 4. 8. 4. girls 8. 4,8, 4. A croup photograph of all the competitors will be taken. on the Brougham Hill Club courts at 8 a.m. O’HARA WOOD RETIRES FROM VICTORIAN CHAMPIONSHIP. (Rec. November 26, 10.15 p.m.) Melbourne, November 26. O’Hara. Wood, who was to have played Patterson in the final of the singles championship, has withdrawn owing to an injury to an ankle.
