-; . ® “THE M IRK OF THE BEAST.” A large lathering listened with interest to Dr. Oliver’s address last evening in tho Town Hall. Speaking iioiii Rev. XIII, Dr. Oliver remarked that prophecy was more thrilling than romance. The Bible indicated the rise in the future of a great leader and federator of nations. He would appear after the coming of Christ for His Church. There were abundant signs indicated in Scripture that the time of His advent was not far distant. The Scriptures stated that there must be a great apostacy from the faith; this was taking replace in the churches to-day. There would also be a great moral collapse, and indications of this were not wanting at the present time. The political turmoil in every nation was another sign of the last days, also the formation of trusts, the Socialist and Bolshevik movements. Further signs cited by the speaker as jigns that tho world was being prepared for tho coming of the great leader who would enforce a boycott upon those who would not receive His mark, were the trade-mark system and tho rise of trades unionism. The preaching of the gospel today was not for the conversion of the world, but as a witness to all nations. A number responded to the speaker’s appeal. To-day Dr. Oliver will speak in the Concert Chamber at 2.30 p.m. to women and girls on “Why Some Marriages Fail.’
