SUNDAY GAMES
WORD OF WARNING BY ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY. London, June fl. The Archbishop of Canterbury, in r>. letter to the secretary of the Imperial Alliance for the Defence of Sunday, deplores the growing tendency to play games on tho Sabbath. He says that those responsible for the position must have their eyes opened to the danger of the progress, possibly nover intended by them, from innocent recreation to the encouragement of great competitive games. A word of warning was gravely needed throughout the whole country, and tho public bodies particularly. If Sunday were devoted chiefly to pleasure-seeking the price would be deplorable.—Aus.-N.Z.
