POLICE AND MAINTENANCE CASES

Air. F. K. Hunt, S.AI., with police and maintenance cases .n the Alagistrate’s Court yesterday. A middle-aged man, AVilliam Smith, alias William Ernest ■ Smith, alias William Henry Cox, denied a charge of stealing £2 65., the property of a lodge er in a Frederick Street boardinghouse. After hearing the evidence, His Worship held that the case had not been established and dismissed the information.

Jarnos AVilson Hagen (arrears £179 Bs.) was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment, the warrant to bo suspended so long as he pays Ils. per week. John Ryan (arrears £lO 10s.) was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment. John Laurence Sullivan (arrears £33) was sentenced to three month’s imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended so long as he pays £2 per week.
