SHIP IN DISTRESS
PROVISIONED BY THE TAINUI
Tlie officers of the liner 'Tainui, which arrived at AVellington yesterday from London, reported that three days out from Balboa, lat. 2.13 S., long. 90.32 AV. tho schooner Napo, of Quayaquil, Ecquador, was sighted flying signals of distress. She reported provisions had gone bad, and she had on board 36 souls, including passengers and crew of small sailing vessel, wrecked on the Galapagos Islands. Ample provisions were given them to carry them to their destination.
