MAN BURIED BY FALL OF EARTH

A party of six men, under Mr. ,F. Sievers, were engaged in excavation work at Ngaio yesterday, and were just knocking off at noon, when a fall of rock and earth (about a couple of tons in weight) occurred, burring A. E. Aplin, 26 years of age. The others quickly shovelled the earth from Aplin, and Dr. Young, of Johnsonville was sent for. On arrival, he ordered the man’s removal to a private hospital in the city. Last night, the patient was reported to bo out of danger. Although he was terribly bruised about tho head and the right side, no bones were broken. It is stated that Aplin met with an accident at. Ngaio about throe years ago, sustaining a wound from a gun.
