DETECTIVES VT«TT LOCKED ROOM. . BY* TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. Auckland. Anril 11 In the Police Court to-day, _ Cornelius McDevitt was charged with a breach of the Gaming Act on March 12. Evidence w.as given that the accused had leased a room, but he denied that it was used ns a. gaming house. Detectives got an answer to a telephone call, and visited the room They found the door locked, and .'e-if-tered bv a window, and found evidence of occupation and also records of bets. Decision was reserved.
