HYDRO-ELECTRIC SCHEMES
SYDNEY ADVISED TO BURN COAL Sydney, April 11. Mr. Forbes Mackay, the city electrical engineet, is aA rising the City Council ,to burn coal in generating electricity in preference to proposed hydro-electric schemes. He says that thorp are no large hydro propositions in New. South Wales which are advisable from a commercial standpoint to develop. Referring to the Snowy River scheme, he said that to save £lOO,OOO coal bill yearly, it would be necessary to lav out niillions with an interest bill of £150,000 a year.—Press Assn.
