POLICE, CIVIL AND BY-LAW CASES Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., dealt with the police cases in the Court yesterday. Arthur Ansell, charged with insobriety’, who did not apjiear, was ordered to forfeit tho amount of his bail. £l. Joseph George Kearsley, alias Kersley, admitted being drunk, and obtaining liquor during the currency of a prohibition order. He was fined 10s. on each charge. Brewer to pay Mitchell Motors Co., £8 12s. 6d. before April 24, in default six days’ imprisonment. BY-LAW BREACHES Thp bv-law cases were heard by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. ' For permitting stock to wander, W. and S. Boulton were fined £2; Albert Durant. £1 10s.; Allan Evie Lambert, 10s.; Budhia Jairam, 55.; and Septimus Knight, costa only, 7s. Oscar Hull-Brown, who had disembarked from a ferry steamer by means other than tlw gangway was fined 10s. and costs. Failure to provide vehicles with lights cost Eric Roy Pratt £2, and Hardwick Spiith and W. E. Herbert each ss. Charles William Barker and Herbert Whyte, who had failed to register dogs, were each fined £1 and costs. William Tibbs, for neglecting to provide a motor-cycle with a rear number, was fined 10s. and costs. A fine of 10s. and costs was imposed on Robert Theodore Mead Edmunds, who had refused to stop a motor-car when requested. For omitting to attend drill Ernest Arthur Hopper and Cryil Dobson were each fined 10s. and costs. Refusal to quit the platform of a tram-car led to W. North being fined 10s. and costs. Bartholomew Charles Sheehan, for casting offensive matter on a footpath was fined 10s. and costs. A similar fine was inflicted on Joseph Palmer, who cast offensive liquid in the street.
