The Rev. J. R. Heney, vicar of Malvern, North Canterbury, who several years ago, was assistant to the Rev. W. Fancourt, St. Thomas’s, Newtown, has received appointment to the parish of Temuka and Winchester, Smith Canterbury. On Thursday last, Mr. S. H. Ferguson, who was appointed over a month ago to tho headmastfjrship of tho Wadestoivn school, from the post of assistant at Napier Street School, Auckland, was presented with a fountain pen by the members of the staff of . the latter school. Mr. Ferguson was also accorded a farewell at a combined »athering of the Freeman’s Bay Boys and Girls’ Clubs of the Young Citizens’ League, of which ho was superintendent. Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson arrived, in Wellington on Saturday. Mr. T. Hutchison, SAL, will leave on Tuesdav for Australia on Ins way to a trip to the Old Country.
