THE PORIRUA CLUB I A SUCCESSFUL MEETING

The hospital grounds at Porirua presented a gay and animated scene on Saturday afternoon, on the occasion of tho annual meeting of tho Porirua Amateur Athletic Club. The event had been postponed from the previous Saturday on account of bad weather. Apart from running events there were guessing and other competitions. Tho first event commenced about 11 o’clock in the morning, and everything went off without a hitch. No records were broken, but some of'the events, notably the cycle racing, were exciting. Tracy, the’ University champion, did not fulfil expectations. Good times were put up on the hurdles, but they were below standard height.
