In connection with the annual meeting of the New Zealand Alliance, which is to take place on Wednesday and Thursday next, there will be a public meeting in the Town Hall at 8 p.m. on Thursday. The chair will be taken by Mr. W. D. Hunt, and the speakers ■will be Mr. L. M. Isitt, M.P., and Dr. A’ B. O’Brien, of Christchurch. Musical items will be provided by the Salvation Army Band. Admission is free, but a collection will be taken.
