6 ANNUAL MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Wellington Master Carriers’ Association was held on Thursday evening. Mr. T. A. Muni, president, the chair. Mr. Munt stated tnat the membership campaign now in progress had resulted in the enrolment to date of 25 now members. The association had successfully defended seven actions brought against members by local bodies outside Wellington claiming license fees on motor-lorries. The association, considering that it had need of direct representation on the Wellington Harbour Board in order to further not -nly its own interests but also those of importers and the general public, unanimously restilved to elect- Mr. D. J. McGowan as its nominee for the representative of “payers of dues other than ship’s dues.” The following officers were elected for the ensuing year. —President, Mr. D. J. The meeting terminated with votes of thanks to the retiring officers.
