MOTHES SHIELD REGATTA. As the outcome of their successful showing at the inter-club regatta on Saturday afternoon, the Wellington Club will retain for the ensuing year the Mothes Shield, which is awarded annually to the club securing the most points in the two gatherings held during tho season. Tne clubs gained the following points Wellington, 84; Star, 37; Petono, 33. . On account of the northerly wind the regatta, was held at Potoiie. Some excellent contests were witnessed, and close finishes were the order of the dav. Appended are the results: — Junior Fours.—Wellington (Bright, Johnsen, Power, Signal), 1; Petone No. 2 (Adamson, Hickson, AVeatherley, Cropp), 2; Petono No. 1 (Gardiner, Warden, McLapchlaii, Rodger), 3. Won bv two' lengths and a half, half a length separating second and_ third crews. Also competed; Star Nos. 1 and 2. z Youths’ Double Sculls.—Wellington No. 1 (Grace and Mawson), 1; Wellington No. 2 (Zander and• West), 2; Star (McKinley and Zohrab), 3. Won by half a length. . Light-weight Maiden Fours. —Wellington (Ottaway, Rota, Campbell, Van Sljke), 1; Petone No. 1 (Hollick, Maude, Haddock, Wilson), 2; Star (Bentley, Barraclough, Diehl, Wakelin), 8. Won by a length. Also competed: Wellington and Petone. Junior Double Sculls.—Star (Davis and Marris), 1; -Wellington (Syinond® and Wilson), 2; Petono (Burridge and Burke), 3. Won easily. Maiden Fours. —'Wellington (Bright, Johnsen, Power, Signal), 1; 'Star (Johns, Hereford, Fenton, Waugh), 2; Petone No. 1 (/(.damson,' Hickson, Weatherley, Cropp), 3. Won by 'a length and a half. Also competed: Petone No. 2. Maiden Single Sculls.—Wellington (Zander), 1; Wellington (Grace),- S; Star (Davis), 3. Won by a length and a half. Also competed: Stat (Marris) and Petone (Burke). Senior Fours.—Petone No. 1 (Burridge, Haddock, Love, Sharon), 1; Wellington (Godfrey, Fraser, Bognuda, Moyes), 2. A great race. Won by a length and a quarter. Also competed: Star Nos. 1 and 2, Petone No. 2.
