UNREGISTERED MIDWIFE
FINE OF £lO IMPOSED. - Unlawful practice as a midwife was the charge laid against Elizabeth AA’atson at the Aiagistrate’s Court on Friday, before Air. F. K. Hunt, S.AI. Sub-Inspector Cummings said that the defendant was not registered. She had practised for a number of years, sometimes with a doctor, and sometimes without. Air. R- Foden, for the defendant, said that she had practised for 25 years. Usually she called in a doctor, but one was not available in the caso which led to the charge. Describing the case as a very bad one, the Alagistrate imposed a fine of £lO and costs.
