In the course of a statement made at a largely attended meeting of tho Civic Le:»iue held last evening, the secretary (Mr. D. McLaren) made it quite clear that the league had so far made no decision in regard io its candidate for tho Mayoralty, but every name submitted to the Selection Committee would, receive fair and impartial con siderat ’.on at its hands, The league was not out for party or parochialism. but was out to select the man who would best serve the city as a whole.
