GRUESOME DISCOVERY
THREE SKELETONS IN A CAVE FOUND ON MOUNT EGMONT BY TELEGRAPH—PBYBS ASSOCIATION. New Plymouth, February 7. A gruesome and mysterious discovery of three skeletons was made in a cave bn the western face of Mount Eo-mont to-dav by the searchers for tho Rev. William Murray, who is still missing. Tho identitv of tho mon who perished and the circumstances of thendeaths cannot vet be determined, and the unveiling of the mystery’ is made more difficult by tho fact that no party of three known to leave has been l °The finders declare that the skeletons are those of Europeans,, but a local theory is advanced that the men were Maoris.
