The House of Representatives Immigration Committee has adopted a 2 per cent, immigration quota provision, based on the 1890 census. The provision, however, makes many exceptions, which probably will permit of the admission of as many immigrants as the present 3 per cent. law. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. EXCLUSION OF JAPANESE (Rec. February 6, 9 p.m.) Washington, February 5. Japanese. Chinese, and low caste Hindus will be excluded under the Bill, which the House of Representatives Immigration Committee has adopted. The committee is convinced that it is justified in exluding Japanese, since the Supreme Court decided that Japanese were not white within the meaning of the American law, and could not become citizens of the United St/tes.- —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. ADMISSION OF ARMENIAN CHILDREN (Rec. February 6, 5.5 p.m.) Washington, February 5. The Senate passed a Bill to admit 25.000 Armenian children to the United States. The measure also admits between 5000 and 6000 Armenian adults in excess of the quota allowed under the immigration law. —Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
