RESULT OF LOWER CHARGES BY T3LEGB 4TH—■Pgusc ASSOCIATION. Christchurch, February 5. Inquiries made at the Post Office today showed that there had been a considerable increase in the matter posted since the reduction in postal rates. Each succeeding day has shown an increase in the amount of mail handled compared with the quantity usually passing through at this time of the year. The increase in posted matter since the reduction is approximately estimated nt 10 per cent.
