Tho Australian Workers’ Union Conference has issued a manifesto stating that, under no circumstances, should the workers of Australia allow themselves to be embroiled in fratricidal conflict in foreign lands. The “Pall Mall Gazette” states that the Inland Revenue Department has proposed to Cabinet that betting on horses should be taxed by licenses to all bookmakers and by the taxation cf tile winnings of their patrons.
