The up-tnail train on Friday was about twenty-fivo minutes Into leaving HnwoTa, the delay being due to the engine being unable to bring the train up the hill on the Hawera side of Wanganui, and Um train hail to be cut ninto two ..‘motions.- (says the 0.-Taranaki ’Nlsws"). There was further delay at Hawera, owing to a '‘hot box” necessitating the first-class smoker being faken off and replaced by another car. The bulk of the tirnn/wns made up befween Hawera and New Plymouth, although the train had to shunt at Stratford to put off a horse box.
