REGATTA COMMI’ITEE MEET. A meeting of the Committee was held last night, when theio vere present: Messrs. Symonds (chairman), Diehl, Hart, Fonton, Mcpowan, McGrath, and Oborn. . . Tho Canterbury Rowing Association wrote stating that they were forwarding the Challenge Cup for the interprovincial championship fours for presentation after the regatta. A. .letter was received from the Mayor intimating that, he would bo pleased to extend a civic recetpion to the visitors on Friday, January 23. The following, officials were appointed for tho day subject to the approval of the council or the N.Z.A.A.A.: — Starter. Mr. M. A. Turner. Umpire, Mr. J. E. Widdop. Judges, Messrs. A. D. Bayfeild, E. C. Innes, G. Laucblan, and R. AV. McVilly. The secretary reported that in spite of a considerable improvement in /ho financial position the amount required was not yet assured. It is proposed to entertain the visiting oarsmen on the day after the regatta' by means of a motor trip round the city and surroundnig districts. Several car owners have, already expressed their willingness to place their cars at the disposal of the committee for the. occasion.
