At the ,wool sales- to-day there was a good selection of merino and a fair one of crossbreds. Prices were generally, firm. There was no quotable change. Now Zealand lambs. Pareora clip, realised 28JdMessrs. Murray, Roberts, and Co.. Ltd., are in receipt of a cablegram from their London agents, dated F<d«ruarv 2, reading as follows: —Merino, market irregular p greasy merino and scoured merino, wool suitable for thn Continent, declined 5 per cent.: crosbred, market firm and shows a hardening tendency. LONDON MARKETS The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London house under date February 2: —New Zealand Butter.—No change in market. (Last quotations, January 19, 1923: Salted, 1965. to 198 s. per cwt. ; unsalted. 198 s. to 200 s. pet cwt.). Cheese —1265. to 130 s. per cwt., market steady. New Zealand Frozen Meat —-Market dull, little demand, quotations unchanged. (Last quotations, January 26, 1923: Lamb. 12d. per lb. : mutton, wether and maiden ewe, light 91d. per lb., heavy BJd. per lb. ; ewe, light 7gd. per lb., heavy 7jd. per lb. ; beef, ox hinds 4Jd. per lb., fores.4ld. per lb.; cow. hinds 4Jd. per lb., fores, 3Jd. per lb.). Messrs. A. H. Turnbull and Co. have received a cablegram from their principals, Messrs. W. Weddell and Co., Ltd/ dated London. February 1, refording the dairy produce market, as follows:—Danish butter. 2045. to 206 s per cwt.; New Zealand butter, unsalted, 198?. to 200 s ; New Zealand butter, salted, 1965. to 1985.; market quiet. New Zealand cheese, coloured. 1265. to 130 s. per cwt.; New Zealand cheese, white, 1265. to 130 b. ; market steady. MASTERTON SHOW The Masterton A. and P. Association has made, a special effort to cater for exhibitors at the show, to be held on February 20 and 21. 1 The prize list contains a very wide range of special prizes and trophies. The cash prizes have in many instances been increased. The Romney Marsh, Lincoln, Southdown, Shorthorn, horse and competition sections, carry numerous special prizes. The society makes a special feature of caring for stock at the show, and a committee of experienced farmers personally take charge of all show stock and see to its care, from the time it arrives on the ground. Late pntries for the show will close with the secretary (Air. R. H. Williams, Box 40, Masterton) on February 10.
