CAYENNE PEPPER PUT IN A MEMBER’S HAT.
Brisbane, August 25. During the tea adjournment in the Legislative Assembly, an Opposition member, Mr. Moore, was found to have collapsed at the door <4 the Opposition Whip’s room. He complained that on putting on his hat something happened to his eyes. Investigation disclosed the fact that the hat was filled with cayenne pepper. Detectives are inquiring into the incident, which is regarded as significant, because Mr. Moore was deputed to address a meeting in protest against the abuse of the use of trie “gag” in the Assembly.—Press Assn-
