THORNY PROBLEM
SOCIALISATION OF INDUSTRIES. DISCUSSED. (Rec. June 28, 5.5 p.m.) - Melbourne, Juno 28. The All-Australia Labour Conference is wrestling with the thorny problem of tho socialisation of industries. The speeches have disclosed considerable opposition to the adoption of the original resolution carried at the Brisbane conference, and several amendments have been moved. The debate, which is interlarded with many appeals for the urgent heed of unity in Labour ranks to meet existing conditions, is likely to be protracted. An attempt was made to bring about unity by the appointment of a committee to draft a motion regarding policy, consisting of three representatives of the militant .section and three of the section favouring the Brisbane decision. —Press Assn.
