SCHEME’S PROSPECTS OF SUCCESS. (Rcc. May 13, 5.5 p.m.) London, May 12. Tho council considers that provided six airships are used and an airship base is established in India, the scheme offers a reasonable prospect of the successful operation of a service with India. The council does not desire to discuss the financial aspects of tho proposals. It is noteworthy that the letter does not refer to the prospects of extending the service to Aus-tralia.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. [The promoters propose, out of a capital of four_ millions, to spend £3 400,000 on new airships, and hopes to’establish a bi-weekly service with India, with a weekly extension to Australia’ They ask for an annual subsidy of £Bl .'OOO from the British Government and £40,000 each from India and Australia until it is able to pay a dividend unsupported.]
