THIRD MAN ARRESTED AT MASTERTON

CHARGED WITH “RECEIVING” by telegraph—special cobbespondekt. Masterton, April 28. A further development in the Paekakariki robbery case was the arrest of a young man named James Thompson in Masterton to-day. He was charged that at Moonshine Hill on January 18 lie received 28 sovereign* and £l2 in silver, sucli money having been obtained through crime committed by Percy Martin Carmichael and Eric Malcolm Biel, accused knowing such money to have been obtained dishonestly. Biel and Carmichael wefte recently sentenced to imprisonment for breaking, entering and theft at the Paekakariki railway refreshment room. Mr. W. Noble appeared for accused. Senior-Sergeant Cummings asked for a remand in order to enable him to get witnesses together. A remand was granted to May 5, bail being allowed in self £2OO and two sureties of £lOO each.
