THE ARBUCKLE CASE
PRELIMINARY HEARING OF MURDER. CHARGE. (Rec. September 18, 5.5 p.m.j San Francisco, September 16. Arbuckle has been arraigned nt the Police Court for the preliminary hearing of the murder charge. Tim Judge agreed to its continuance for five days. The District Attorney declares that he hopes to bring the comedian to trial within throe weeks on tho murder charge, not on the two charges of manslaughter. Arbuckle is showing the strain, pacing hie. cell till midnight.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. ARBUCKLE FILM BURNED BY COWBOYS. (Rec. September 18, 11.5 p.m.) New York, September 17. A hundred and fifty cowboys and cattlemen entered a Wyoming theatre where an Arbuckle film was showing, and seized the film nnd burned it in tho street. Tho manager of tho theatre stated that the Purity Longue had requested that the film should not bo shown, but he saw no reason to acquiesce.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
