WELLINGTON NORTH CRICKET CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual general meeting of the Wellington North Cricket Club was held in the Chamber of Commerce on Thursday. Mr. M. J. Crombie was in the chair The following officers wore elected:— President, Sir Francis Bell; vicepresidents, Messrs. A. T. Bate, L. O. 11. Tripp, T. J. Thurman, H. Hall, A. I l '. AViren, lan Duncan, J. T. Martin, Dr. Newman, Dr. Collins, L. C. Manning, T. 8. Ronaldson, M. F. Luckie, C. .A. Richardson, IV. E. Pearson, W. Whitehead, H. Price; club captain, Mr. E. H. Ward; secretary and treasurer, Mr. N. F. Dunlop; management committee, Messrs. J. S. Hanna, H. Burton, W. H. Wagstnffe, H. Middleton, 11. Anderson, B. J. Tuekwell, W. Wilson; senior selection committee, Messrs. Ashford, Tuckwell, and Burton; delegates to W.C.A., Messrs. C. G. Wilson, H. E. Burton, and H. Middleton ; auditor, Mr. C. H. Manson. The committee, in its annual report, congratulated the club on the marked improvement shown in the play generally. The senior team, the report stated, were runners-up in the senior grade, the winners being tho Potent Club. The junior A team had a* fairly successful Beason, winning about the same number of matches ns it lost, while the junior B team was successful in winning a number of matches. The debit balance at tho bank at the end of la't season had been only slightly reduced during the
year. On the occasion of Mr. M. J. Crombie's retirement from the management of the club it was decided to place on record the club’s great appreciation of his valuable work.
It was also decided, owing to the district cricket scheme being discontinued, to delete the word "North" from tho name of the club, the title of the club to he in future tlte Wellington Cricket Club.
Among those present at the meeting was Mr. A. T. Bate, who joined the Wellington Cricket Club in 1875.
