A SOLICITOR IN TROUBLE

1 Following action by the District Law Society, Francis J. Tipping, barrister and; solicitor, was called upon in the Supremo X'ourt to show cause why he should not bo struck off the roll. Affidavits stated that Mr. Meredith had. been instructed by tho Commissioner Of Crown Lands to recover .£llOO paid to Tipping on behalf of the Government for loans to certain returned soldiers, also to recover various mortgages and documents representing securities for advances previously made through Tipping. 1 Tipping handed over JljlOO, less £9 10s., also various documents. Tipping had not registered any: of the deeds, and ,£2OB was due for stamp-duties and fines. He admitted that tho allegations were correct. ' Counsel for Tipning raid that the shortage was small. Ho asked for the mercy of the Court and for time to see Ifipping again. iMr. Justice Adams adjourned the matter for ono week.
