BREACH OF PROBATION LICENSE. Francis Noel Hitching woe before the Court in June last. Convicted of obtaining meals from the Salvation Army by means .of false pretences, he was placed on. probation, and ordered to make restitution. He appeared before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., yesterday, charged with failing to comply with the terms of his release on probation. Kitching had given tho police and gaol officials ijome trouble by going blind at intervals. The probation officer (Mr. T. P. Mills) said that he could do nothing with the man, who had: failed to report, and had not made restitution. Kilfching was sentenced to three inontlis’ imprisonment on the original charge of obtaining meals from tho Salvation Army, and to an additional three months’' imprisonment for failing to comply with the terms of his probation. Bernard Tier, for whom Mr. W. E. Leicester appeared, was remanded for a week on a charge of being an idle and disorderly person in that he habitually consorted with reputed thieves and prostitutes. Bail was allowed in one surety of «£25. Michael Henry O'Leary was fined 40s. and costs for being found in the blew Zealander Hotel after closing time. John J. Buckley, who was charged with committing a breach of his prohibition order, was fined UH. An American named Harold B. Hay pleaded guilty to making a false declaration in breach of tho Aliens Act. He appears to have given a false name on landing in Auckland. He came on to Wellington, and subsequently went, to th© Wairarapa. Defendant was fined 405., and ordered to pay costs. William Smith pleaded, guilty to wilfully damaging two footballs, the property or th© -Miramar Football Club. It appeared that defendant became annoyed' at something that happened on the football field, and damaged tho footballs in corn sequence. He was fined 205., and ordered to make restitution. Edward Wagner had a breakdown with hie motor-car on the Hutt Bond, and left the car on the road for three days. Ho was convicted and ordered to pay 7s. costs. »
