THE ARBUCKLE CASE
TRIAL ON MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE PROBABLE. (Rec. September 16, 5.5 p.m.) San Francisco, September 15. The Coroner's jury brought in a, verdict of manslaughter against Roscoe Arbuckle, who is still held in. gaol .cn four charges against him—two of murde? apd two of manslaughter—but as the two latter are official jury verdicts if is likely that the prosecution will' ask for a trial on the manslaughter charge, instead of murder. Arbuckle was greatly affected by the Coroner’s verdict, filming deadly pale and mopping his brow on the announcement being made. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. CREDITORS TAKING ACTIONS. (Rec. February 17, 1.30 a.m. New York, September 13. Federal officials are seeking to confiscate Arbuckle’s expensive motor-car because it conveyed liquor from Los Angeles to San Francisco for the fatal party.
