HANNAN CHALLENGED BY WELLS By Telegraph.—Praia Association. Blenheim, September 15. Fred Welle, a well-known cyclist, has lodged a deposit with -Mr. R. P. Furness, proprietor of the "Marlborough Express," to row Hannan on the Wairau River for jf!lso a side and the championship of Marlborough. Wells has been trying to locate Fogwoll with a view to issuing a challenge for the New Zealand championship, but without sucoess.
