MAGISTRATE’S COURT
POLICE AND CIVIL CASES. Andrew Michael J. Curtin and Alfred James H. Gardiner appeared before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., • in the Magistrate's Court yesterday, and were charged with the theft at Napier <-n September 10 of a garbadine cont, leather pocket wallet, tobacco pouch, razor end blades, two gold studs, pocket diary, gold tiepin, and a. number of collars, the whole valued at J3S, the property of William H. Scha del. They were also charged with the theft at Napier of a safety razor and a fountain pen, value £1 10s., the property of Austin .T. Fitzherbert. On the application of Chief Detective Ward they were remanded to appear at Napier on Saturday. Frances L. Jenkins, who was found at 9 o’clock yesterday morning in Thorndbn Quay, was convicted of being a rogue and a vagabond, and was committed to the Salvation Army Home for twelve months. CIVIL BUSINESS.
