MILITARY HOSPITALS
TO BE HANDED OVER TO HEALTH DEPARTMENT. Two more military hospitals, the Cashmere institution (Christchurch) and King George Hospital (Rotorua) are to l>e handed over by the Defence Department to the Department of Public Health, as part of the scheme for transferring all military hospitals to the Health authorities. The Pukeroa and Hanmor Military Hospitals have already been handed over.
Tor the purpose ctf providing relief for the unemployed of the borough n fund has boon opened at the Lower \ Hutt town clerk’s office. The council intends to provide employment in the borough for the more necessitous cases so far ns the money available will per mlt.
