REORGANISATION Tf) BE CONSIDERED. Councillor T. Forsyth moved at last night’s meeting of the City Council for the setting up of a Works Committee, consisting of the Mayor end five councillors, to consider and deal with all reports concerning the various undertakings of the council, exclusive of the trading concerns. Tho mover said that in the past apparently too much attention had been paid to some classes of work, not enough to others, and too little, certainly to finance. In the other three large centres they had works committees which were achieving good result.’. A mittee had long been needed in V. ellington. In the past there had been some competition between one ccimni - tee and another to get work done.first Thus at times works more important, than others to the city’s welfare haid had to wait while lees important work-, vote P C.on C n U dinor W. H. Bennett seconded the “Councillor C. J. B. Norwood observed that thero were already eight commUtccs in the council. If ft ninth wore set up the council would b® getting into hopeless complications. He believed th® time w come for a general overhaul and reorganisation of the council s work, but not for th® addition of a new committee to th® present list. Tho amendment was carried ny w votes to 6. and a committee was set np a’ suggested.
