The custodian of the Te Aro Baths has reported to the City Council that during the season 1920-21 the number of school children using the 'baths during the free days granted by the council was estimated at 60,000. Tn addition to the number of children admitted free, 10,536 boys and 15,662 girls paid the cash charge: for admission. The cash charge of 3d. for admission was paid by 19,316 men and 8360 women, and 813 2s. 6d. concession tickets were sold, representing 21,390 admissions (21,390 men and 3000 women). Of the Is. concession tickets 324 were issued. These represented 3888 admissions to the baths (2664 men and 1224 women). In addition a large number of adults and children’s yearly tickets were disposed of. The Outlying District Committee reported to the City Council last night that a proposal for the provision' of steps through private property did not meet with its approval, but that it was of opinion that the connection of Mortimer Terrace and Durham. Street would be of considerable benefit. It therefore recommended that provision be made in next year's estimates for the work, subject to the condition that owners whoso property would be improved should contribute substantially towards the cost.
