MEMORIAL BANDSTAND
movement by island bay RESIDENTS. The Island Bay Ratepayers and Electors’ Association is taking steps to erect a memorial bandstand at the proposed new rest park, opposite the foreshore at Island Bay. The effort will be confined to the district, and the memorial will include panels on which will be inscribed the names of all Island Bay men who served in the Great. War. Ihe bandstand will bo constructed of masonry and marble, a domed roof being supported by a circle of Doric pillars. It. is to cost something like .CKKW. A meeting is to be held at the Bay tonight to dX'Cliss ways and moans of erecting the memorial. It will be attended bv the Mover (Mr. JL A. Wright), and Mr G. Mitchell (ALP., for tht district). Air'. C. C. Odlin will preside.
