INFECTIOUS DISEASES
FIGURES FOR PAST WEEK. During the week ended, at noon yesterday 57 cases of infectious disease, as compared with'49 for tho previous week, were reported in tho Wellington 'health district. Hospital districts reported cases as under:— Wai pawn: Scarlet fever, 2; erysipelas, 1. Palmerston North: Scarlet fever, 5; diphtheria, 1; tuberculosis, 1; puerperal septicaemia, 2; pneumonia, 1; varicella, 4; erysipelas, 1. Wellington; Scarlet fever, 12: diphtheria, 10; tuberculosis, 1; pneumonia, 3; varicella, 3; pneumonic influenza, 3; erysipelas, 1. Wairarapa: Scarlet fever, 1; pneumonia, 1. Wairau: Scarlet fever, 2; diphtheria, 1. Nelson: Scarlet fever, 1. i The following table compares tho number of cases of each disease notified during the past week with tho number notified during the previous week:—
