UNEMPLOYMENT
Sir.—l would throw out a suggestion to the Ministers of Railways and public Works and political wiseacres and? publie men in Wellington. They hard had a lot to stir about what they could not do for the unemployed; my suggestion is, cut every man in the Railways. Public Works. and Government employ five shillings per day, and the highest paid ones in proportion; make them pay full fare when travelling. No concessions for goods; cut a lot of holidays put and make them work. If that were done there would soon be ft surplus to give every man out of work employment. It . is time the taxpayers woke up to stop the useless squandering of their money to high-paid officials.-I am ' p e^ lEn
