ONGAROTO MURDER TRIAL

JURY VISITS SCENE OF TRAGEDY. ■ By Telegranh —Press Association. Hamilton, September 12. The third trial of Hakaria Te Kahu charged with the murder of Patrick Richard Elliott at Ongaroto on Easter Sunday, commenced this morning. The prisoner showed no signa of distress. There is great public interest in the trial, tho court being crowded. The Solicitor-General (Mr. AV. C. Macgregor), with him Mr. H. T. Gillies (local Crown Prosecutor) is appearing for the Crown, and Mr. M. H. Hampeon, who defended the prisoner so ably at the previous two trials, is again, appearing for him. The jury left to-night for the scene of the tragedy, and will return to-mor-row to resume the trial on Wednesday. No fresh evidence has been called so far.
