At the Town Hall Concert Chamber Sunday night Mr. Vivian H. R. Deacon delivered an address on Mans Life m Three Worlds." He said: "Materialism only occurs when civilisation waxes old and as the result of luxurious living man loses, his natural instin’ets, and fails to keep in touch with his soul. In Imperial Rome we had an illustration _of this, just prior to the advent of Christianity. High thinking had given place to high living. But just as then there was in the midst of that decadence the embryo of spiritual Christianity, which came to the rescue of the world, so today in the midst of a materialistic and decadent age there had been born a Christian spiritualism ’ which should yet rescue mankind from tho deadening influence of materialism, and point mankind toward the higher altitudes of the spiritual world.” He was certain we could by definitely training .purselves, so stimulate our latent forces that we could become clairvoyant and clairaudient, and then we should no longer doubt the goodness and wisdom of God, for to our enlightened gaze would be unfolded the mysteries of the Kingdom of God, and we should be transported from, existence to life, even, while being still incarnate in tho flesh.
