BROOKLYN CLUB. Favoured with ideal conditions for cross-country running the Brooklyn Club hold its weekly run from Karon, on Saturday. Paper was dispensed with, and | the runners in one pack, under K. Poutawera,* were led an excellent course by F.'Harlen the distance covered approximating four miles.. A 300 yards race was held at the finish, and as tins was the last of the season it was of special interest, four men having about equal chances for the points’ prize. N. Smollie (scr.) Was conceding starts up to 25 yards, but had no difficulty in secuT ; ing first place, Fatter being second, and Harlen and Hill, deadl-li.eat, third. In winning this race Smellie secured the run-in points' prize.
