It is reported from Amsterdam that the Federation of International Rowing Societies postponed England’s request for admission for a year, pending the preparation of a report. Hungary was admitted. When, as is the case this year, tne competitions overlap the school holidays by over a week, it necessarily affects the attendance at school of the children competing in those classes especially set for girls and boys of school age. On the present occasion the problem was left by tho truant officer <Mr. J. laughton) to the Education Board, which decided not to take action, on condition that the society shoujd in future years confine the children’s classes to the children's term holidays. It is understood that the society has given such an undertaking.
