THANKS TO THE Y.W.C.A.
Sir,—l crave space to voice through your columns my gratitude to the Y.W.C.A, for the great work they are doing for the women and girls of thia city, of whom I am one. It puzzles me often to think what many of us would do if it. were not for this "fine association. An even-open door for strangers with comfort whilst they wait, generally a blazing fire to welcome and warm, most delicious and wholesome meals at a small cost, andl with the meals always a band of courteous, kindly gracious women, who, no matter how big the crush (and it is sometimes a continuous stream from 12 to 1.30 p.m.l, always manage to smilj through it all and never “grouch.” It is something to be grateful for, and it is up to the girls and women who enjoy these benefits to show their gratitude in any practical way they can, one way being that of becoming members and helping on the organisation by every means in their power. This is only a bare outline of the vast work the Y.W.C.A. is doing, but it is tho side I see most of and for which I am more than duly grateful. From my heart I say for the Y.W.C.A'.,” for it is the onlyorganisation' that, to my mind, caters for the needs of women in the city.—l am, etc., A TOILER.
