THE RONA MISHAP
NO FURTHER INQUIRY. The Marine Department yesterday announced that there would be no Magisterial inquiry’ into the circumsUncos under which the barque Rona went ashore on Steeple Rock, off Soatoun. A preliminary inquiry was held recently, and on the evidence then supplied to Captain G. S. Stringer (superintendent of mercantile marine), the captain has been exonerated from all blame. Ho was not responsible under the circumstances for the stranding of tho barque, and did all in hie power to save the vessel. The Rona yesterday went round to the slip for repairs.
