Reserved judgment has been delivered bv Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the case of Wellington Hotel Workers Union (Mr. P. .L O’Regan), against Gilbert Wil by of the Post Office Hotel (Mr. E. 1. Bunny), a claim for X2 13s. for t ns alleged to bo due as a member oi the union. The question the Magistrate lad to decide wls -whether the union could recover more than twelve mouthy contributions, while -by Rulo <9 a lnei her must ho struck oft the roll if he • twelve months in arroar. The W* trate said that the point had already been decided by the Supremo Court. In given by Mr. Justice Cooper it was held that "it was the duty of the union to purge its roll of members by striking off the plaintiff, and he became a person discharged from the membership of the union, but remained Jiable for twelve months’ arrears of Magistrate therefore decided that plaintift could only recover twelve months co - tributions, and as the amount due had been paid into Court, judgment would be given for plaintiff for that sum.
