For the month of May last the Lower Hutt Borough Council purchased from Petone 2,975,000 c.f. of gas, of which quantity 1,992,100 c.f. were sold for domestic purposes, 181,200 c.f. for power, and 86,400 c.f. for street lighting. 'The unaccounted-for gas amounted to 24.01 per cent. "The heavy percentage of un-accounted-for gas,” stated the borough engineer (Mr. E. A.
